Kuna Kung Fu - Traditional Kung Fu

Traditional Kung Fu

Improve Your Mind, Body & Spirit

With a combination of body-weight exercises and traditional Kung Fu, you will work in a safe, encouraging environment that will also challenge you to develop:

Fitness & Toughness

Sweat into Shape Kung-Fu Style

Fitness: Kung Fu performance requires physicality. This is the class to train it! Using a combination of body-weight exercises and traditional Kung Fu fighting drills, you will work in a safe, encouraging environment that challenges you to develop cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance, improve flexibility and coordination and burn calories leading to your overall improved health.

Toughness: Hung Ga practitioners are famous for their toughness and power. You can train and tap into it! More advanced and more traditional than the Fitness Class, these classes focus on body strengthening, joint resiliency and physical conditioning.

Fighting: The core of traditional Kung Fu is the development of fighting skills. If your goal is self-defense or participation in future full-contact tournaments, this is the class for you! You will do partner exercises at a speed and intensity appropriate to your skill and comfort level, with an emphasis on skills that you can Learn TODAY and Use TODAY.

Private Lessons

Improve and Advance Your Skills Quickly

Private lessons offer more individualized instruction specifically for you, your family or your team. This might be an option for you if you would like to:
 
  • Learn curriculum in a different order.
  • Learn curriculum without signing up for the Hung Ga classes.
  • Take a class that is offered at a time you’re unable to attend.
  • Learn material not taught as part of the class schedule.
  • Have individualized instruction to help advance your skills more quickly.

This includes self-defense and other seminars. We will also teach a family class for your entire family (for children 12 and under with their parent(s)).

Kuna Kung Fu - Lion Dance

Lion Dance

Learn an Ancient Tradition

Kung Fu is rooted in Chinese culture and history, and training in this style provides an opportunity to learn about and appreciate different cultural traditions including Lion Dancing. Lion dancing symbolizes good fortune and protection against negative influences. It's also vital to the proper training of strength and "live power." It's an important part of Hung Ga Kung Fu. At Kuna Kung Fu, we do Lion Dancing during public performances such as for Chinese New Year. You can have the opportunity to take part in this cultural tradition. Get started today.

Weapons Training

Reach a Higher Level

Like many traditional martial arts, Hung Ga maintains a set of weapon forms in its curriculum. While once they were ways to train life-saving skills in deadly scenarios, these forms are now taught as extensions of your self and as tools to improve your barehand skills.  The weapons taught are:

 
  • Dao/Broadsword
  • Pole
  • Spear
  • JiMo/ Butterfly swords
  • KwanDao
  • Tiger Fork

Through these weapons you can expand your skills and capabilities, in order to continually strive to reach a higher level.
